Co-Creator of Berenstain Bears dies at 82.

When growing up, I read every Berenstain Bears book that my mom could get her hands on. So hearing that Stan died at 82(!) surprised me, in that I had no clue he was that old (I thought he was in his 50-60's).

In the past few years I would watch the BB's television show on PBS with my (now 4yr old) son. I loved how they did not dumb down the writing or the plot devices for TV.

Quality stuff. Mr. Berenstain did good.

While I read a few when I was young, my parents were never really big on them because Papa Bear always looked pretty foolish. Still, I know that Berenstain turned alot of kids onto reading at a young age, so it's sad that he's no longer with us.
