This thread is for each member to have ONE POST in which they chronicle the posting of their own film reviews, providing links or publication references.

DO NOT post the text of the reviews. Just post the title of the film in bold, the link (if applicable), the publication reference (if applicable), and a star rating or number rating or whatever system you use (or not.)

Example:

Seabiscuit - B+
Open Range - B-

Please add reviews chronologically, so we can check the bottom of your post to see the most recent review you've posted.

If you wish to add more info about each review, that's fine too. (Long review, short blurb, off-the-cuff reaction, "My editors screwed it up.", etc.)

If you want to make suggestions about how to improve this thread, please send me a private message or post them in the discussion thread ABOUT this thread: OUR Reviews - A New Sticky Thread!

My reviews:

Note: I don't summariaze films with an A-F or 1-5 star rating in my reviews themselves, but I'll try to do so for this thread. Take them with a grain of salt, though; I'm making them up as I go along.

The Matrix Reloaded D+
Pirates of the Caribbean A-
Seabiscuit B-
Secondhand Lions C+
X2 A
Lost in Translation A+
Intolerable Cruelty A-
Elf B

NEW: Return of the King A or A+... still can't decide.

OK. I change my mind. I will put up letters just because my HERO (m) did. But i still don't fully believe in the principle behind letters; after high school i'm afraid of grades and allergic to red ink.

Here's my annual survey of the films I was able to see at the Chicago International Film Festival -- not a bad total considering the unexpectedly persistant (but ultimately tragic) eruption of postseason baseball in the vicinity. Wish now I'd skipped a game and gone to see the new Haneke with Leary and Stef. Sigh...
