The Gospel of John (2003)

Capsule Review by Matt Page

Much of the strength of this lively word for word adaptation of the Gospel of John comes from Henry Ian Cusick's compelling performance as Jesus. Whilst the support work is more patchy, Christopher Plummer's narration moves things on nicely. Likewise XX's direction shows some interesting touches early on, and stops the flow from drying up too much during the long monologue that dominates the latter chapters of the gospel.
