Becket (1964) Faith, honor, duty, pride, humility, and piety come together in the life of an ambitious man known then as Thomas of London. Companion and chancellor to Henry II of England, Thomas is seen as the kings man when Henry puts his name forward as Archbishop of Canterbury. Thomas Becket finds the God he has neglected "laughing" at him in his arrogance yet meeting him in his need and his weakness. That discovery unleashes a powerful passion in a man who had only known emotional coldness. Probably one of the greatest portrayals of a Christian in film, Becket gives us a glimpse of an 'accidental hero', who, not seeking glory and honor, sees through his brokenness to seeds of greatness and grace.
