Trailer Alert!

Recommended Posts

There's a new trailer for Satoshi Kon's Paprika, and it makes me giddy every time I see it. Trippy beyond trippy -- like Eternal Sunshine with a healthy dollop of Gilliam and Lynch -- and the animation looks to be stunning.

I'd also recommend watching the opening credits sequence over on the film's official website.

30 Days of Night, from David Slade, director of Hard Candy.

Man, is it just me, or are there ten times more horror movies than ever?

And is it unsettling to anybody else that we're getting one or two apocalyptic, world-gone-insane movies every week right now? I'm surprised with every day that passes that there *isn't* an outbreak of plague or zombies somewhere... (Of course, there *are* such things in parts of the world. Just not here. Yet.) It's almost as if audiences are expressing some subconscious sense that we deserve such a disaster, or that they actually want one. The dream factory is certainly fantasizing about this very thing with a passion these days.

The Bourne Ultimatum.

I trust Greengrass. I trust Damon. Heck, I trust everybody involved with this film.

So why does this trailer just look like, oh, ho-hum, more of the same?
