Uncle Tupelo's Kids

Just bumping up this thread to note that the Southeast Engine album is out now. This album is going to end up in my Top 10 for 2007. It keeps opening up in new ways, and the songwriting is a wondrous thing; imagine Jeff Tweedy writing and singing Sufjan's "Casimir Pulaski Day." Like Being There (still my favorite Wilco album), there's plenty of loose-limbed, ragged rock 'n roll (with touches of country), and harrowing confessional songwriting, only this time suffused with biblical imagery. This is a great album. Y'all should pick it up.

I didn't see a dedicated Uncle Tupelo thread, so I'm posting this here.

Today is the twentieth anniversary of the March 16 - 20, 1992 recording sessions. I'm listening to that album in celebration. It's not my favorite UT album, but it's still fantastic.
