Au Hasard Balthazar

Led from girl to man

Quiet brayer bears the blows

Of humanity

Nice. Very nice.

(Yes, those ones are easy ... they'll get harder, I'm sure.)

Easy? I can't wait to see what you call hard.

Anyway, I'll play with another haiku.

Water all over

An ex-Episcopal mess

Scares without logic.

I'd say my latest is a toughie, even for people who may know the film pretty well. Anyone sufficiently familiar with the first two films should get them pretty easily (especially since one of them makes liberal use of the film's own language).

No clue about yours, BTW.

Your first, its not "Knowing" is it?

(See, I'm going to look like an idiot with my totally random guesses--of course, finding out why people guess certain films may be more interesting than the actual poem.)

Very nice, all three, KShaw. (I was contemplating a Summer Hours one myself ...)

Hey! Let's play a new game! Review haikus ... without titles!

(Peter, the first one's for you ... syllable wise, that is. :) )

They awakened us

Called from the moon and beyond

Childhood starts anew.

She watched from the tree

Now the moon reaches for her

Who will miss the boat?

(Yes, those ones are easy ... they'll get harder, I'm sure.)

Okay, I'll bite. The first one is 2001. I have no idea of the others.

Yes!

That's Signs, isn't it?

Ah, that sounds right.

Grave of the Fireflies

Bravo! I can't believe someone got that one before "She watched from the tree," which is probably the easiest spot for anyone who's seen all the films.

Woo hoo! This is fun!

Hmmm! Interesting guess, but no. :)

Wonder what got me thinking of that one Peter? :P

Is it The Purple Rose of Cairo?
