Top 25 Horror Films 2011: Writers Needed

Recommended Posts

I have to be honest that I would normally give TCotCP a 2/5, but for the purposes of our horror list, I gave it a one.

I agree, actually, re: the list. Curse is much less of a traditional horror film than Cat People. In fact, I might just say it's a drama with possible ghosty activity.

CAT PEOPLE and CURSE OF THE CAT PEOPLE are snoozefests.

Well, to you. Your declarative statements are becoming pretty charming, I must say.

Hehe... :) maybe about 1,000 ago.

That's just how eye roll.

We need volunteers willing to write brief, 2-3 sentence (NOT 2-3 paragraph) blurbs about A&F's first Top 20 list.

7 Psycho (1960)

12 The Shining (1980)

13 Repulsion (1965)

16 The Haunting (1963)

17 Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

22 Dracula (1931)

... Blurbs are due February 4.

SIX films left!

I'm ashamed to say I've only seen Psycho, The Shining and Dracula and that I'd be hard pressed to explain their spiritual significance. I guess I could try to take Dracula if no one else can do better.

So ... who nominated (and voted for) these six that are left?

Where to do we send the blurbs?

Send them to Anna in a personal message. (When you go to her profile page--get there by clicking on her username on any of her posts--there's a "send me a message" link right under her profile picture.)

It's the side effects that save us.

I assume all the blurbs got submitted. Never saw an update, or request for last minute submissions. And as they say, no news is good news.

I personally sent in three extra for the horror list, never heard back from the staff: Gertrud, Gabbeh, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Well, it's going live tomorrow, so I'm assuming everything worked out well in the end. It's like a rom-com, in a way.

Thanks again for all your blurbs, everybody. We had pretty strict space constraints, so we did end up editing quite a few, mostly for length. We plumped up a couple of the briefer ones, too. If you have any concerns about the way your blurb was edited, let me know by PM.
