Darren H
I'm starting this thread for MLeary. From my friend in Cannes: Outside Satan (6.3) - Dumont is back in the mode of his 1st 2 features; austerity grueling, picks up signif. once point emerges in 2nd 1/2. Also includes his best sex scene by a mile. Quote Long Pauses
M. Leary
Because inside Satan it is too dark to read! Get it? But seriously, thanks. I am interested in picking up the thread of Dumont's very curious references to biblical theology. They are exteremly oblique, but they work. Quote "...the vivid crossing of borders between film and theology may save the film from the banality of cinema and festival business, and it may also save the church from the deep sleep of the habitual and the always known."
