It bums me out that there doesn't seem to be any way to add polls to existing threads in the current version of the board, but oh well.

The nominees for the Oscar are (with the ones I've seen in bold):

  • Cate Blanchett, Carol
  • Brie Larson, Room
  • Jennifer Lawrence, Joy
  • Charlotte Rampling, 45 Years
  • Saoirse Ronan, Brooklyn

So the Academy basically agrees with SAG on three of the nominees, and switched out Helen Mirren and Sarah Silverman for Jennifer Lawrence and Charlotte Rampling.

And the winner is... Brie Larson, for Room.

I was so badly hoping for Ronan.
