Evan C
I submitted this to Ken as one of my top ten spiritually significant films directed by women. I've been kicking myself for forgetting to nominate it, especially after watching the one Lois Weber film we did nominate, Where Are My Children? - a technically accomplished film that didn't really strike me as a good fit for the list. The Hypocrites, however, would have been a fantastic fit and it's one we should keep in mind going forward. The whole movie is on YouTube, and it's decent enough quality to appreciate Weber's skill as a director and how she pioneered many of the techniques Griffith took credit for. Quote "Anyway, in general I love tragic artists, especially classical ones.""Even the forms for expressing truth can be multiform, and this is indeed necessary for the transmission of the Gospel in its timeless meaning."- Pope Francis, August 2013 interview with Antonio Spadaro
