Anyone here see this?

I know three things about it:

1. Directed by Mike Mills of R.E.M.

2. It appears to fit easily into the disaffected and eccentric teen protagonist genre.

3. (what's got me most interested at this point) The author of the source novel is a writer from Montana whose new novel is called Mission to America, about two cult members who live in a remote community who enter "mass society." According to at least one reviewer, it avoids the predictable cliches (the innocent hayseeds, etc.). I saw a slate book club dialogue with the author last week that piqued my interest.

Ahem.

"Sympathy must precede belligerence. First I must understand the other, as it were, from the inside; then I can critique it from the outside. So many people skip right to the latter." -- Steven D. Greydanus
