Can TV Shows Be Added to the Top 100 List?

Recommended Posts

SMRT-TV considers religion and science fiction on tv, with special attention to LOST and the new Battlestar Galactica.

I suppose we'll have to wait until both series end, though, to see how they shake out.

This seemed like a reasonable place to cite a bit of dialogue from Bones (which may deserve its own thread eventually):

BOOTH

We don't believe in things like witch doctors and zombies.

BONES

Didn't Jesus rise from the dead?

BOOTH

(appalled)

Jesus was not a zombie!

I picked this up from former Buffy/Angel/Firefly writer Jane Espenson's blog--anyone interested in writing for TV should be reading it.

She cites it as an example of comedic writing with a light touch, and goes on to demonstrate how one could take it too far. Whatever Ms. Espenson's personal beliefs may be, it's nice to know that the character of "Booth" has his Christology straight :)

I am impressed My So-Called Life and Freaks and Geeks made the list, two shows that didn't even last one season.

However, SpongBob Square Pants? Felicity? Top 100? Really?

And no Wonder Years? The middle school years of that show were priceless.
