Unfunny Things Seen on Church Signs

Recommended Posts

"THIS CHURCH IS PRAYER-CONDITIONED"

One of the church signs in Minnesota read, "This church is prayer conditioned."

I was going to mention that I had seen this message on a church in Vancouver tonight, but I figured I'd play it safe and check to see if anyone else had seen it. Turns out someone had. Two someones. And the second someone's sighting even prompted a brief riff on the fact that churches are getting not only cheesy, but unoriginally so.

Ah well. It only took Canada four years to catch up.

On a Lutheran Church sign shown in L. A. Times today: Don't give up. Moses was a basket case too.

Driving to work this morning in the San Fernando Valley, drove past this church sign....

"Have you ever seen a hearse pulling a U-haul?"

A church sign that a friend of mine recently posted at Facebook: "Tomb it may concern, Jesus will return."

Last one I remember from a church in Jacksonville, FL -- "Google doesn't satisfy every search." I actually like it though.

After a quick google search on the quote, apparently this is popular and been used a lot :

"Google vs. God"

Oddly Specific's headline on this picture: "Faith Without Works is Dead"!

FWIW, my Dad used to have a tax disc holder (which sits on the inside of the windscreen opposite the passenger) which had a similar (but better IMHO) thrust:

"Trust in God, but as I'm driving, please use your seatbelt".

The church sign across the street from where I live, right now:

"Call 911! -- NOT!

The people in this Building

Are On FIRE!"

I don't know what's worse, the joke itself or the fact they had to throw in a "NOT" to make sure everyone knew it was a joke.

Like, don't call 911. Please. Just jokin'.

On my trip to see OtR in Seattle...

He finds no mercy

And he's lost in the crowd

With an armoured heart of metal

He finds he's running out of odd-numbered daisies

From which to pull the petals
