Redeeming Pop Culture: A Kingdom Approach, by T.M. Moore

Recommended Posts

Just saw this new title advertised and was wondering if anyone has read it.

Darrell, am I remembering correctly that you studied with/under T.M. Moore? If so, what's Moore's take on a "kingdom approach" to pop culture? I'm intrigued.

I'd like to hear some information about this one, as well. That book has been advertised in a lot of publications aimed at the Reformed faith, which intrigues me.

Yeah, it was part of a P&R promo I received from Cumberland Valley Bible Book Service (cvbbs.com). I think Moore was affiliated with the PCA until a few years ago, when he left for the EPC. There's a story behind it that's kind of ugly, and reflects poorly on my denomination (PCA) IMHO, but it's a story I heard second-hand, so I don't want to repeat it.

I've probably said too much already.

Anyway, back to the book...

Before we go back to the book, I would just like to point out that you and I belong to the same denomination, Christian. 8)

And I should add that I do love the PCA, faults and all.

I'm at New Hope, in the Potomac Presbytery.

Things people in the PCA seem to know about my church:

--The name of our senior pastor, Dave Coffin (who tells me that these days he has to identify himself as "Andrew's dad")

--That we meet in a fire station

--That we have a sermon discussion following each Sunday morning service

I could be remembering incorrectly, Christian, but I think it was Darren Hughes who had the connection to Moore.
