The Art Directors Guild (via Deadline; I couldn't find any recent press releases on the ADG's own website) has announced its nominees:

  • HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 Production Designer: Stuart Craig
  • CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER Production Designer: Rick Heinrichs

The winners will be announced February 4, or eleven days after the Academy has announced its own nominees.

I think they mixed up the categories. Captain America is totally a period film.

And note how, of the Academy's five nominees, TWO (i.e. Midnight in Paris and War Horse) are not among the fifteen films nominated by the guild.
