Hmmm, don't know how we missed this, but the Screen Actors Guild announced its nominees way back on December 14. In this category, they are:

  • KENNETH BRANAGH / Sir Laurence Olivier - “MY WEEK WITH MARILYN” (The Weinstein Company)
  • ARMIE HAMMER / Clyde Tolson - "J. EDGAR" (Warner Bros. Pictures)
  • JONAH HILL / Peter Brand - "MONEYBALL" (Columbia Pictures)
  • NICK NOLTE / Paddy Conlon - “WARRIOR” (Lionsgate)
  • CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER / Hal - “BEGINNERS” (Focus Features)
The winner will be announced January 29, or five days after the Academy Award nominees are announced.

Vote!

And note how, where the Screen Actors Guild went with Armie Hammer in J. Edgar, the Academy went with Max von Sydow in Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.

Certainly Max von Sydow will get some votes based on lifetime achievement.

And the winner is... Christopher Plummer, for Beginners.
